The purpose of these rules is to clarify the way forum should be used. The forum has for goal to answer quickly and without amibiguity and avoiding redudancies (in questions and answers).

Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.
Forum is open to everyone. Respect is the rule. Taging your topic as urgent is stupid and useless. How could a question on a gallery tool be urgent? (no life depend should depend on the answer).
Forum is only one of the communication tool for Piwigo / PhpWebGallery project. Its purpose is not to be exhaustive. Wiki, bug tracker, mailing-list must be used in a complementary way. Do not use the forum for doing a job when other tools should be used instead. For example, bugs must be notified in the bug tracker, nowhere else. The forum is the ideal place to discuss (on future evolutions, etc.) and getting help (installation, customization).
Before any question, perform a search.
The subject of your topic must be clear and significant. It means anyone whould should know what your topic is about before entering it. Good topics subject examples : "migration 1.3.0 to 1.3.1", "[Discussion] Dublin Core metada". Bad topics subject examples : "Question from a newbie...", "Parse error".
Do not use topics as chatroom ! I explain : if the topic title is "template error", we must only discuss about this point. The discussion must no wander to subjects that have no direct relation. Creating several topics costs nothing.
Use existing topics if you question is the same. It is for example completely useless to have 10 topics discussing about the display order of thumbnails, 1 is enough.
Anyway, don't forget that when you encounter a problem, someone else has certainly already encountered it (and you'll be glad to find the solution performing a search) or others will certainly encounter it (and thay will be glad to find easily your topic thanks to the clear topic title and the respect of discussion subject). Topics may also be about general questions, there is not only bugs in Piwigo / PhpWebGallery :-).
